Mt. Humphreys towers high above Bishop, California where I lived for two years. Every time I left my apartment I could see Mt. Humphreys, that jagged shark tooth like peak, the crown jewel of the skyline, and I wanted to climb it. Near the summit there is about 100ft of California fourth class climbing, which some parties rope up for. For a while I debated internally whether I wanted to rope up for this peak or not. Ultimately, Matt, Ari and I decided to bring a rope and I’m glad we did. Now every time I am back in Bishop, I look up at the skyline with great happiness, knowing that for a few minutes, I was up there.
