Kearsarge to Woods Creek

For our first overnight of the 2022 summer, Matt and I climbed over Kearsarge Pass, and hiked the KCHBR section north from there to Woods Creek. The section was beautiful, but I would not recommend it as King Col was quite sketchy. The ground is extremely loose and it is very sleep. I slipped, snapped my pole and slip down a ways, but luckily I was able to arrest. Hopefully one day a bypass around King col will be discovered, as the rest of the section is quite pretty.

To get out of Woods Creek, Matt and I finished up the Baxter Pass High Route.

Matt’s trip report here.
