Keeler Needle is a subpeak of Mt. Whitney, a pinnacle very visible from the Owens Valley below. It does not meet the 300′ prominence threshold to be its own peak, but neither do a few other peaks on the 14ers list. Keeler has 196′ of prominence, greater prominence then Polemonium (160′) and Starlight (80′). Should this be considered a 14er? Decide for yourself.
Climbed in June 2022.
