I got off work and drove straight to McGee Creek. Soon I was hiking up the McGee Pass trail. One of the best parts of living out here is how quickly I can go from working to climbing up a mountain. I hiked six miles into the fading light and setup a base camp.
The next morning I hiked Red Slate first and then Red and White. It was nice to finally hike these two peaks that were so close to home. Both had beautiful panoramic views. Soon I was trotting back down the McGee Pass trail, and planning my hike on Iron Mountain the next day.
